Heavy Equipment

Construction equipment, tractors, skid-steers, and other heavy equipment can produce excessive noise that may be bothersome or dangerous to the operator, make worksite communications difficult, and even strain relations with neighbors. Soundown consults with heavy equipment manufacturers and operators to develop effective and appropriate noise control solutions.buldozer

For heavy machinery, treatments may be focused on the engine compartment, operator cab, or both. The range of treatments typically includes acoustic absorption or barrier composite insulation that keeps noise in (the engine compartment) or out (of the operators cab). Vibration from the engine, hydraulics, or drive train components is also a significant consideration for heavy equipment. Vibration isolation treatments, including engine and cab mounts or vibration damping treatments, are most often used to reduce structureborne noise sources.
